Sports Tourism Coordinator - City of Fredericton

With over 16 years experience in different capacities in the Sport and Recreation Field, including a 4.5 year stint in Inuvik NWT. Bobby Despres has been employed with the City of Fredericton since 2007. He worked as a Recreation Officer until taking on his new role as Sport Tourism Coordinator in July 2013. Bobby has been involved in the planning and organization of many National Championships prior to taking on the role of Sport Tourism Coordinator and has been involved, in some capacity with numerous National Championships since. In his role as Sport Tourism Coordinator, Bobby works with sporting groups at the local, provincial, national and international level to leverage sport as an economic driver in Fredericton.

 

Bobby has taken on key roles in the following events:

 

2003 -  Arctic Winter Games Trials

2011 - U19 Boy's Canadian Fastpitch Championships

2012 - U18 Boy's Canadian Fastpitch Championships

2012 - Senior Men's Canadian Fastpitch Championships

2014 - U16 Boy's Canadian Fastpitch Championships

2015 - U18 Boy's Canadian Fastpitch Championships

 

Although the foundation of organization of events comes mostly from Softball, Bobby has learned through experience that the basic foundation of hosting a quality National Championship is the same throughout every sport.
